We love Kununurra and we think you will too. Find out what makes it such a great place to visit and work!
Kununurra is the regional centre of the East Kimberley in Western Australia’s north. Located on the Ord River, it has a population of approximately 5,500 residents and it is the largest town in Western Australia north of Broome. It is approx 3300 kilometres from Perth by road, a 3 to 4 day drive or a 4 hour direct flight.
The town is located close to the confluence of the Ord and Dunham Rivers. Lake Argyle, Australia’s largest artificial lake, over 100km in size is 72km from town. Kununurra has a Celebrity Tree Park with many trees planted by famous people including Baz Luhrmann, after the majority of the filming for “Australia” was filmed just outside Kununurra in 2007. The town has many natural attractions including waterfalls, gorges and ranges. It was voted the second-best town to live in Australia for outdoor adventure by Outdoor Adventure magazine (year?) and was voted as the Best Regional Destination in Australia in 2017 by Experience Oz and NZ. |
